Rimuru Overpowers the Master of Greed
Episode 10 (Episode 82 overall) brings the confrontation between Rimuru and Mariabell Rosso to a head. Mariabell wields her Unique Skill "Greedy," but against an awakened Demon Lord, it falls painfully short. The gap in power between them is clear from the opening moments, and Rimuru moves to finish the fight on the spot.
Then Yuuki gets in the way.
Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro Kamado in Demon Slayer) voices the enigmatic Yuuki, who places himself between Rimuru and Mariabell just as the battle appears settled. The episode doesn't spell out his motives. It is one of Season 4's most charged moments so far, leaving viewers to parse whether Yuuki's move is loyalty, strategy, or something harder to name.
Inori Minase (Rem in Re:Zero) voices Mariabell, the granddaughter of former hero Granbell Rosso. The Rosso family's arc has been building since the start of Season 4. Granbell and Mariabell champion human supremacy through domination, a direct collision course with Rimuru's vision for the Monster Nation of Tempest as a place where humans and monsters coexist. The episode title, "Master of Greed," nods to Mariabell's Unique Skill and the worldview it represents.
Production Details
Series composition writer Hitomi Ogawa personally scripted Episode 10, underlining how pivotal this confrontation is to the Rosso arc. Ken Ōtsuka handled the storyboard, Yoshiki Kodaka directed, and chief animation directors Masayori Komine, Akane Miyakawa, and Koichirō Ueda oversaw the visuals.
Season 4 continues under director Naokatsu Tsuda at studio Eight Bit, which has produced every installment of the TenSura anime since the show's 2018 debut. The series adapts the manga by Taiki Kawakami, Fuse, and Mitsubaa, serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius.
For context on the season's scope: Season 4 is structured as a five-cour run, with the first two cours airing back to back from April 2026. Episode 10 lands near the midpoint of the first cour, right where the Rosso conflict has reached its boiling point. The episode marks a turning point, not a resolution.
Looking Ahead
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 airs Fridays at 11:00 PM JST on NTV's Friday Anime Night block across 30 stations nationwide, with BS11 following on Saturdays at 10:00 PM. Crunchyroll streams new episodes internationally with English subtitles and an English dub.
The source manga is published in English by Kodansha USA, and the original light novels by Yen Press. Yuuki now stands between Rimuru and his target. The next episode should begin to clarify whether this intervention is a calculated gambit or a sign that Yuuki's allegiances run deeper than anyone expected.
