The new anime Code Geass Star Chaser Aspal will begin event screenings in 2027, according to an Anime! Anime! report. The report says advance preview screenings will tour five major cities in Japan starting in January 2027, with details to come on the official website and social media accounts.

The announcement also revealed the main cast. Ivan Shibata voices Aspal, a slave boy with no memories of his past, and Hibiku Yamamura voices Zoé, a mysterious woman who lives as only a head. A main visual was released as well, along with artwork of both characters and of Chronos, a new Agalmata machine.

The story begins in 606 D.E., or Divine Era, in a Roman Empire whose citizens suffer under the emperor's oppressive rule and repeated wars with neighboring countries. Aspal, who lives in the imperial city of Neapolis, meets Zoé one day, and that encounter sets the story in motion. In a comment published with the announcement, director Kazuya Nomura said that through Aspal he has seriously engaged with a major theme: what happiness is.

The project was first announced at the "Code Geass Project 'To 20th'" event in December 2025. Nomura directs, with series composition by Mado Nozaki, character designs by Rolua, and animation production by Sunrise. The staff list credits Ichiro Okouchi and Goro Taniguchi with the story concept and Taro Iwashiro with the music.
