A Two-Day Finale for the Anniversary Project
The expo is billed as the closing act of My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary, the year-long project that kicked off with a start event on April 3. According to Japanese entertainment news outlet Oricon News, the event doubles as a thank-you to fans who have followed the series for a decade.
The scale is the headline here. The expo takes over the Event Hall and Exhibition Halls 2 and 3 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba for both days. Per the official event site, the exhibition halls handle the exhibits and the Event Hall handles the stage programming. Makuhari Messe is the venue Japanese fans know from Jump Festa, Shueisha's annual December fan convention, so the choice signals a Jump Festa-sized footprint rather than a single-theater fan meeting.
The organizers describe the lineup only as a run of "Plus Ultra" programs, borrowing U.A. High's motto. Anything more specific is still under wraps.
What We Know, and What We Don't
Right now the confirmed facts are the dates, the venue, and the name. The official site renders the event's English name as HEROACA ULTRA EXPO, and a dedicated X account, @heroaca_expo, went live alongside it.
Everything else waits until early October, when the organizers plan to reveal the event contents, the performers, and ticket information. Given that the stage area is a full event hall, a voice-cast stage program seems likely, but no names have been announced, so treat that as an expectation rather than a fact.
Ten Years of Plus Ultra
A quick refresher: My Hero Academia is set in a world where superpowers called Quirks are ordinary. Izuku Midoriya, better known as Deku, enrolls at the elite hero school U.A. High and trains alongside his classmates to become a hero who protects society and stands up to villains who abuse their Quirks.
Kohei Horikoshi's manga launched in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014 and wrapped on August 5, 2024, with more than 100 million copies in circulation. The TV anime, produced at Bones (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Mob Psycho 100), premiered in April 2016 and ran for eight seasons before its final episode aired on December 13, 2025.
The anniversary project has kept the franchise active since the finale. A special short anime titled I am a hero too has been streaming since August 3, 2026, in Japan. Toho also marked the anniversary with a commemorative PLUS ULTRA MOVIE on its TOHO animation YouTube channel and a limited-time free marathon of seasons 1 through 3 on the same channel.
Looking Ahead
The next milestone is the early-October reveal of the expo's programming, guests, and ticketing. Nothing has been said yet about overseas ticket sales, livestreams, or an English-language stream of the stage events, so international fans planning a Chiba trip should wait for the October announcement before booking anything.
