Two Game Adaptations Anchor October

Suikoden: The Anime opened the season on October 3 in a Saturday 8 p.m. slot across TOKYO MX, Kansai TV, BS Asahi and 32 stations nationwide, then moves to Tuesdays at 11:30 p.m. from episode 2 onward. Konami's in-house studio, Konami Animation, is producing, with Yūzō Satō directing and NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan credited on planning. The adaptation covers Suikoden II, the 1998 PlayStation RPG, and amazarashi performs the opening theme "Kanashimi Sae Otonabite."

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 follows on October 20, again on Netflix. Trigger (Kill la Kill, Promare) returns to Night City with Kai Ikarashi directing, and Bartosz Sztybor and Masahiko Otsuka are again credited on story. Rather than extending David's arc from 2022, the sequel builds around a new crew of edgerunners, so the two seasons work as separate stories in the same city.

CLAMP, Shonen Jump and a Run of Revivals

Magic Knight Rayearth returns on October 7 at 11:45 p.m. in TV Asahi's IMAnimation W block, and it runs two consecutive cours (back-to-back broadcast blocks) rather than a single 12-episode stretch. E&H production animates, directed by 三浦唯 (likely Yui Miura), with Shigeru Murakoshi on series composition, Satomi Watanabe on character design, and Yuki Kajiura among the three credited composers. Mamiko Noto, Ayumu Murase and Hiroki Yasumoto join the cast. CLAMP's manga about three Tokyo middle schoolers pulled into the world of Cephiro last got a TV anime in 1994.

PSYREN starts October 5 at 11 p.m., finally giving Toshiaki Iwashiro's Weekly Shonen Jump series an adaptation. Satelight (Macross Delta, Symphogear) animates, with Katsumi Ono directing and Shin Yoshida on series composition.

From Far Away arrives late night on October 4. Studio Deen animates Kyoko Hikawa's isekai manga under director Noriyuki Abe, with Tomoyo Kurosawa as Noriko and Kentarō Kumagai as Izark. Viz Media published the manga in English, making it one of the more accessible of the season's older properties.

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus lands October 11 at 11:15 p.m. on Fuji TV as an enhanced cut with new and redrawn footage. Episode 1 gets its world premiere at New York Comic Con 2026, with English voice actors Jason Douglas, Ian Sinclair and Monica Rial on stage. That puts the international premiere ahead of the Japanese broadcast. MAPPA's Ranma 1/2 reaches its third season on October 3, and Keroro returns the same morning.

Sequels Stack Up Around The Apothecary Diaries

The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 began October 2 at 11 p.m., split into two cours with the second half scheduled for April 2027. The franchise's first theatrical film opens in Japan on December 11, which puts the movie in the middle of the season-three gap.

The rest of the returning slate is dense. Blue Box Season 2 and Aoashi Season 2 both start October 4, Black Clover's 2nd Season on October 3, the second cour of Mission: Yozakura Family's second season on October 4, Ace of Diamond actII Second Season's second cour on October 11, and Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle's second cour on October 13. Hotel Inhumans, Sasaki and Peeps, The Detective Is Already Dead, Reincarnated as a Sword and A Returner's Magic Should Be Special all get new seasons in the first week. Tokyo Revengers starts its Santen Sensō arc on October 2, the same night Togen Anki begins its Nikko and Kegon Falls arc. Girls und Panzer returns October 8, and My Happy Marriage gets a three-episode special run from October 25.

Looking Ahead

Crunchyroll's fall simulcast lineup covers roughly 34 new series and returning seasons. The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 and Magic Knight Rayearth both get same-season English dubs, on October 2 and October 7 respectively. Aoashi Season 2, Black Clover 2nd Season, Sasaki and Peeps Season 2 and A Returner's Magic Should Be Special Season 2 are also on the dub list. PSYREN appears as "coming soon" with no date attached. Netflix has Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 on October 20, plus same-day global releases for Blue Box Season 2 and Ranma 1/2 Season 3.

Suikoden is the gap. Konami's adaptation does not appear on Crunchyroll's announced fall schedule, and no North American simulcast partner has been named. Ani-One Asia has it for parts of Southeast Asia. In Japan it streams on Amazon Prime Video, U-NEXT, ABEMA and others after broadcast.

Four titles land after October: Bass X Machina on November 3, Demons' Crest on November 6, a three-episode Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez run on November 7, and Fool Night on November 26. Famitsu's full fall 2026 list is sorted by broadcast day and notes that its information was accurate as of September 29, with schedules subject to change.
