The full-series rerun of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba TV anime aired episode 26, "A New Mission," on October 4, 2026, the final episode of the Tanjiro Kamado Unwavering Resolve Arc. Studio ufotable posted after the broadcast that the rerun moves on to the Mugen Train Arc next week, starting with its first episode, "Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku" (animeanime).
The following describes events in episode 26.
Five Lower Rank demons of the Twelve Kizuki are gathered in a strangely warped building before Muzan Kibutsuji, who forbids them from speaking without permission and reads their thoughts. animeanime reports that viewers posted heavily about the scene, which fans call the "power harassment meeting" (パワハラ会議). Tanjiro, Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira then receive new orders: damage around the Mugen Train is spreading, and they are to join Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku. Before leaving, Tanjiro thanks Aoi Kanzaki at the Butterfly Mansion and greets Kanao Tsuyuri, who decides anything she has not been instructed to do by flipping a coin. He proposes that she use a coin toss to settle one thing: that from now on she will listen closely to her own heart.
The official Demon Slayer account has been posting cast comments each week to mark the full-series rerun, and this week's came from three voice actors who played the Lower Rank demons in the episode: Soichiro Hoshi (Lower Rank Three), Kana Ueda (Lower Rank Four) and KENN (Lower Rank Six). Hoshi said his appearance was brief and a long time ago, but that it still draws reactions from many people, and that he plans to keep boasting about having been in the series. Ueda said she answers "Demon Slayer!" when people unfamiliar with anime ask what she has appeared in, while keeping quiet that her demon dies in two or three minutes so as not to spoil it. KENN said the tension of the scene stayed with him, down to the sound of cold sweat spilling onto the wooden floor, and that having one's thoughts read is a frightening idea.
Ahead of the Mugen Train Arc, the account also posted messages from Inosuke's voice actor Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Kyojuro Rengoku's voice actor Satoshi Hino, and noted that the rerun airs Sundays at 9:30 a.m. JST. The rerun began on April 5, 2026, just short of seven years after the series premiered on April 6, 2019; the official announcement gave the slot as Sundays from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. JST on Fuji TV and other stations.
