Festival Buzz Meets Home Video
The Blu-ray announcement arrives as the anthology picks up international festival momentum. Shikaku, the assassin-girl short animated by GRAPH77, won the Audience Award at the Bucheon International Animation Film Festival's short competition. More recently, A Couple Clucking Chickens Were Still Kickin' in the Schoolyard, directed by Seishirō Nagaya at ZEXCS, earned an official selection in the Midnight Short Film Competition at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2026. That puts two of the anthology's eight shorts on the global festival circuit within months of their Prime Video debut.
Famitsu reported the Blu-ray details alongside the full product breakdown, reprinting the press release from distributor avex pictures.
What Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26 Actually Is
The series launched as a Prime Video exclusive in November 2025. The premise is simple: take every one-shot manga Tatsuki Fujimoto wrote between ages 17 and 26, collected across two Shueisha volumes (Fujimoto Tatsuki Tanpenshū 17-21 and 22-26), and hand each to a different director and studio.
The eight shorts span wildly different genres. A Couple Clucking Chickens is a post-apocalyptic story about two survivors and the secret their school chickens carry. Sasaki Stopped a Bullet is an adolescent comedy about a student, a teacher crush, and a gunman. Love is Blind sends a high-school confession spiraling into sci-fi chaos. Shikaku pairs an assassin girl with a 3,500-year-old vampire who wants to die. Mermaid Rhapsody tells a boy-meets-mermaid romance scored by a sunken piano. Woke-Up-as-a-Girl Syndrome explores gender identity through a body-swap lens. Nayuta of the Prophecy follows siblings burdened by a harsh destiny. And Sisters digs into artistic jealousy between two drawing-obsessed siblings.
Six studios split the work: ZEXCS, Lapin Track, GRAPH77, 100studio, Studio Kafka, and P.A.WORKS (Shirobako, Skip and Loafer). Seven directors bring their own styles, including Nobuyuki Takeuchi (the 2017 Fireworks film) on Love is Blind and Tetsuaki Watanabe (Blue Lock) on Mermaid Rhapsody.
The voice cast matches the ambition. Kana Hanazawa (Akane Tsunemori in Psycho-Pass) and Tomokazu Sugita (Gintoki Sakata in Gintama) share the screen in Shikaku. Kenshō Ono (Giorno Giovanna in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind) leads A Couple Clucking Chickens. Comedian Yōichi Okano shows up in Sasaki Stopped a Bullet, rounding out a lineup that also includes Jun'ichi Suwabe, Mamiko Noto, and Shion Wakayama.

Looking Ahead
Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26 is already streaming worldwide on Prime Video, where it launched as a global exclusive in November 2025. The Blu-ray is the first physical release. International pricing and retailer availability outside Japan have not been announced. The source manga collections are published by Shueisha under the Jump Comics imprint; English editions of several individual stories have appeared in Shonen Jump and Viz Media's digital catalog.
With A Couple Clucking Chickens heading to Annecy this month, more visibility for the anthology is likely before the September street date.
