Golden Kamuy's Asirpa Joins the Adventurer Roster

The three new roles all belong to adventurers the leads run into after leaving the old continent behind, according to a report from Japanese entertainment news site Oricon News.

Haruka Shiraishi (Asirpa in Golden Kamuy, Fumino Furuhashi in We Never Learn) voices Elsia Armet (エルシア=アーメット), a third-class adventurer who fights with a staff and never takes off her eyepatch. Oricon describes her as an enigma. Shiraishi said in a statement that Elsia looks cool and mysterious but makes a big impression from her first appearance and is hard to dislike. She added that the character also hides a bottomless streak of menace, which she hopes to convey.

Hiromu Mineta (Yatora Yaguchi in Blue Period, Minoru Kanuma in Wind Breaker) plays Alan Clows (アラン=クローズ), a fourth-class adventurer and swordsman who leads his own party. Mineta said he tried to play Alan sincerely while preserving the story's atmosphere, and singled out the series' tense fights and the human drama of characters whose convictions collide.

Yuri Noguchi (Reisalin "Ryza" Stout in Atelier Ryza, Shizuku Oikawa in The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls) rounds out the trio as Isana Gayhone (イサナ=ゲイホーン). Isana is a second-class adventurer and swordswoman known by the nickname "White Lightning Princess" (白雷姫). Noguchi called her hot-blooded but strong and brave, a woman with real conviction, and said she hopes viewers keep an eye on Isana alongside Zig and Siasha's journey.

A Teaser Visual Built on the Novel's First Cover

The second teaser visual pays homage to the cover of the first novel volume. Oricon describes it as showing Zig and Siasha living a harsh but resolute life, rendered in a quiet yet vivid mood.

The first PV, which you can watch on the Bandai Namco Filmworks YouTube channel, covers the pair's new life on an unfamiliar continent and their first encounters with the people and adventurers who live there.

For newcomers, here is the premise. On a continent where magic and magic beasts have vanished, witches are the only ones who can still use magic, and they are feared and hunted for it. Zig Crane, a lone mercenary attached to an extermination squad, finds the "Silent Witch" Siasha deep in a forest. Their fight to the death ends in the mercenary's favor, or so it seems. Instead, Siasha offers him a job: escort her somewhere no one will come after her. The two set out for a new continent with no intention of returning.

Taito Ban (Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling) voices Zig, and Saori Hayami (Yor Forger in Spy x Family, Shinobu Kocho in Demon Slayer) voices Siasha.

Eight Bit and the Vivy Director Handle the Adaptation

Eight Bit (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Blue Lock) is animating the series. Shinpei Ezaki, who directed Vivy -Fluorite Eye's Song-, is in the director's chair, with Daishirō Tanimura handling series composition and scripts and Shingo Irie assisting on series composition.

Keita Matsumoto handles character design and also serves as one of the chief animation directors. Akiko Fujita is the sound director, Rei Ishizuka composes the music, and Lantis handles music production.

The original light novels are written by Chōhōkiteki Kaeru (超法規的かえる) with character designs by Kanase Bench (叶世べんち), published under Micro Magazine's GCN Bunko label. A manga adaptation by Makoto Miyagi runs in Kodansha's Magazine Pocket app.

Looking Ahead

The broadcast starts in April 2027 on the Nippon TV network and its satellite channel BS NTV. No international streaming partner has been announced yet.

English readers can get a head start on the story. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the light novels in English under its Airship imprint, with seven volumes out so far. Seven Seas has also announced an English edition of the manga.

The official site is running a series of voice dramas and short stories supervised by the author in the lead-up to the broadcast, with three voice dramas and two short stories posted to date.
