Riria. Makes It Three Straight Openings

Riria. (りりあ。) has now performed the opening theme for every entry in the My Happy Marriage anime. Her new song, "Shiawase de Namida ga Deru no wa." (幸せで涙が出るのは。), plays over part of the main trailer that Oricon posted on October 2. The footage is all happy domesticity, following Miyo Saimori and Kiyoka Kudou through ordinary days in the run-up to their wedding.

In a comment released with the announcement, Riria. said she started the series assuming it would simply arrive at a happy ending, and instead found herself crying, getting angry and grinning in turn. She singled out the way Miyo and Kiyoka's feelings change and grow, along with the warmth of the people watching over them. She also said the animation is beautiful no matter where you pause it, and that she wants people to watch it in slow motion. The new song, she said, holds the feelings Miyo has built up through Riria.'s first two openings, "Anata no Soba ni." and "Shiawase na Yakusoku."

That back catalog is getting a physical release of its own. Riria. puts out a My Happy Marriage EP on October 21, 2026, four days before the broadcast, collecting six tracks that include both earlier openings and a version of "Anata no Soba ni." performed in character by Miyo's voice actor, Reina Ueda. The ending theme for the special goes to a different artist: Kashitaro Ito's "Prelude no Temae ni for me&you" arrives on streaming services on October 26.

Three Episodes, One Wedding, One Old Classmate

The special runs as three episodes broadcast back to back in a single 90-minute block rather than as a weekly season. The story sits in the period before Miyo and Kiyoka's wedding ceremony, and a woman from Miyo's elementary school days reappears as the date approaches. That new character is Kimio Nagaba (長場君緒), voiced by M·A·O. Reina Ueda and Kaito Ishikawa are back as Miyo and Kiyoka, with Yoko Hikasa returning as Kiyoka's older sister Hazuki Kudou.

For readers coming in fresh: the series adapts Akumi Agitogi's light novels, set in a fictional Japan modeled on the Meiji and Taisho eras, where certain bloodlines inherit supernatural gifts. Miyo grows up treated as worthless inside her own household and is married off to Kiyoka Kudou, an army commander with a reputation for scaring off every prospective bride sent his way. Two television seasons later, the wedding is the payoff the series has been building toward.

Production stays with Kinema Citrus (Made in Abyss, The Rising of the Shield Hero), the studio behind both earlier seasons. Takehiro Kubota returns as director and also handles series composition, and Evan Call is back on music.

Looking Ahead

TOKYO MX has the earliest terrestrial airing, on Sunday, October 25, 2026 from 19:00 to 20:30 JST. BS11 follows at 1:00 a.m. on October 27 (listed in Japan as 25:00 on October 26), and AT-X airs it on Saturday, October 31 from 19:30, with a repeat just after midnight on November 9 (listed in Japan as 24:00 on November 8). Streaming starts the same night as the first broadcast, with Oricon's report listing Netflix and other services rolling it out sequentially from 20:30 JST.

Netflix carried both previous seasons globally, including the season 2 finale in April 2025, so overseas viewers have a clear route to the special. No English dub details have been announced.

On the print side, the source light novels are published in English by Yen Press and the manga adaptation by Square Enix Manga & Books, so readers who want to know how the wedding arc plays out before October 25 can read ahead. The main trailer is up now on KADOKAWA's KADOKAWAanime channel on YouTube, with the opening theme audible in the back half.
