A Student Council Pair Who Already Have Each Other's Backs

Atsushi Tamaru voices Shin Haizaki (灰崎伸), student council president and a classmate of protagonist Yuma Ashihara in class 6-1. Ayumu Murase (Shoyo Hinata in Haikyu!!) plays vice president Kakeru Niki (二木翔). The official site places both at Yukihana Elementary School and describes them as the school's top-grades pair, forever trading first place and widely trusted by the rest of the student body.

Tamaru, whose previous roles include Hiromi Sugita in Erased and Mikihiko Yoshida in The Irregular at Magic High School, said in his comment that Haizaki is not just a dependable class officer. Once the trouble starts, anxious students will turn to him, but his actions also look like they serve some larger purpose of his own. Tamaru also pointed to the sheer number of battle scenes, saying the fights gain a lot once animation puts them in motion.

Murase has worked with the author before. He said it is an honor to join a Reki Kawahara project again after Sword Art Online, where he voiced Shinichi Nagata, better known to players as Recon, in the 2012 series. For Niki he said he is going for a dependable big-brother presence, someone with both the grades and the athletic ability, calm enough to make the right call under pressure. Niki trusts Haizaki, and Haizaki trusts him back.

Soala Takes the Ending Theme With "ReaL"

The ending theme is "ReaL," a new song singer-songwriter Soala wrote for the series. Soala takes the lyrics credit and shares the composition credit with Yusuke Hashiguchi, who also handled the arrangement. Polydor Records is releasing the track. Soala said the song is built on not forgetting the people who support you, or your own belief in yourself, even when you feel alone.

Warner Bros. Japan Anime has posted a comment video from Soala alongside the trailer, and the show's official X account is running a giveaway for a hand-signed poster. That completes the theme-song lineup. Ado handles the opening, "Shinka," a track written for her by vocaloid producer Yurry Canon and announced back in July 2026.

Production I.G and a Full-Dive Game That Does Not Stay in the Game

The setup: Yuma Ashihara joins the test play of Actual Magic (AM), billed as the world's first full-sensory full-dive VRMMO-RPG. The game forces him out of the session against his will, and the reality he returns to has been invaded by it. From there he has to survive, for his own sake and for the classmates who matter to him. The second trailer, posted on the Warner Bros. Japan Anime channel, runs through that collapsed version of the real world.

Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell, Psycho-Pass) is animating, with Shinji Ushiro as chief director and Kenichiro Komaya directing. Eiji Umehara handles series composition, and Yukiko Horiguchi, who illustrated the light novels, is credited on character design for the anime. Yuki Hayashi and Naoyuki Chikatani write the score. Haruka Shiraishi voices Yuma and Konomi Inagaki voices his sister Sawa Ashihara, with Yuya Hirose as Kenji Kondo and Satomi Amano as Minagi Sano rounding out the group closest to him.

One detail separates this from the usual high school death game: the student council officers here are sixth graders. Kawahara has dropped the age of his cast well below the teenagers who carried Sword Art Online and Accel World.
