Five Voices of Anime Villainy Unite

Comic Natalie revealed the five new cast members on May 26, and the lineup reads like a villain casting director's dream. Nobuhiko Okamoto (Katsuki Bakugo in My Hero Academia, Himmel in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End) and Takehito Koyasu (Dio Brando in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) headline the quintet — both veterans whose voices are practically synonymous with scene-stealing intensity.

Rounding out the group are Satoshi Hino, the voice behind Kyōjurō Rengoku in Demon Slayer; Kōsuke Toriumi, who played Guido Mista in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind and Kiba Inuzuka in Naruto; and Shinya Takahashi. All five will play vampires who stand in protagonist Rock's way. Which specific vampire each actor voices hasn't been revealed yet — that follow-up announcement is still to come. Given this much star power packed into a single antagonist faction, fan speculation is guaranteed.

A new key visual was released alongside the casting news, featuring Rock at the center surrounded by his companions.

What Is 'I Became a Legend' About?

For anyone not yet familiar with the premise: the series follows Luck, an S-rank mage who once fought alongside the hero's party. When his companions faced annihilation, Luck told them to go on ahead and held the line alone — for ten years. He ultimately defeated even the Demon God King. Now a living legend, Luck wants none of the fame. He hides his identity under the alias Rock and registers as a lowly F-rank adventurer. The story picks up as the world he quietly saved starts catching up with him.

The existing voice cast is anchored by Gakuto Kajiwara as Luck/Rock and Yui Ishikawa as Seruris. Mayu Sagara voices Shia, M·A·O plays Ruccila, and Yurie Kozakai is Milka. Toshiyuki Morikawa voices Eric, with Takeshi Koyama as Golan, Wakana Maruoka as Arōne, Yūki Terui as Ario, and Akari Miyasaki rounding things out as Ginny.

Behind the scenes, the anime is directed by Hiroyuki Kanbe at studio Gekkou, with character designs by Majiro. The series adapts the light novel by Ezogingitsune, published by SB Creative under its GA Novel imprint, with original character concepts by DeeCHA.

Looking Ahead

I Became a Legend After My 10 Year-Long Last Stand premieres on July 6, 2026 — pushed back from its original April window to give the production additional time. The anime's official X account is currently running an Amazon gift card giveaway (¥1,000 for ten winners) through June 2, timed to the key visual reveal.

No international streaming partners have been announced yet, and the source light novel doesn't have a confirmed English-language release. With five heavyweight voice actors lined up as vampires and their specific role assignments still under wraps, expect more casting details to drop as the summer premiere approaches.
