Hatsune Miku Returns to North America for 15-City Tour in 2026

Crypton Future Media has announced the "HATSUNE MIKU EXPO 2026 North America" tour, bringing the virtual pop sensation back to North American stages for the first time since 2024. The 40-day tour kicks off April 13, 2026, at Chicago's Auditorium Theatre and will visit 15 cities across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The tour embraces a "Candy Shop" theme, featuring original artwork by illustrator 4 that incorporates cute and colorful candy elements throughout the visual design. This marks the 12th year of the HATSUNE MIKU EXPO series, which has become a global phenomenon since its inception in Jakarta in 2014.

Tour stops include major venues across North America, with performances scheduled at Chicago's Auditorium Theatre, Denver's Mission Ballroom, Vancouver's Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre, and Los Angeles' Peacock Theater, among others. The tour concludes May 19, 2026, at Mexico City's Pepsi Center WTC.

The HATSUNE MIKU EXPO series has achieved remarkable international reach, having performed 111 shows across 46 cities worldwide. The virtual singer phenomenon continues to expand globally, with an inaugural Asia tour scheduled for November 2025, followed by this North American return.

Created by Crypton Future Media in 2007, Hatsune Miku originated as voice synthesis software that allows users to create songs by inputting lyrics and melodies. The character's distinctive blue-green twin-tails and virtual persona sparked a creative movement online, with countless fan-created songs, illustrations, and performances establishing her as a cultural phenomenon.

In Japan, the annual "Magical Mirai" event series has drawn over 580,000 attendees since 2013, combining live performances with creative exhibitions. The 2026 edition is scheduled for three Japanese cities: Osaka, Tokyo, and Hamamatsu.
