Osaka's Tallest Building Gets the Conan Treatment

The collaboration, titled "Harukas 300 x Detective Conan: Shōkū no Seitendai" (ハルカス300×名探偵コナン 衝空の晴天台), pairs the iconic mystery series with one of Osaka's most recognizable landmarks. The event subtitle uses kanji characters 衝空の晴天台 that read as "Harukas," a wordplay that fans have already latched onto. As Oricon News reported, online reactions lit up with comments like "the kanji rendering!!!" and praise for the tagline's emotional resonance.

Abeno Harukas stands at 300 meters tall in Osaka's Abeno ward, and its Harukas 300 observatory offers panoramic views of the Kansai region. The entire observation deck will be reimagined through the world of Gosho Aoyama's long-running detective series.

Heiji, Kazuha, and Kansai Take Center Stage

The event leans on Detective Conan's deep ties to Osaka and the wider Kansai area. Exhibits will revisit memorable episodes set in the region, a fitting choice for a venue rooted in the heart of the city.

A dedicated section will trace the relationship between Heiji Hattori, the "Great Detective of the West," and his childhood friend Kazuha Toyama. Their slow-burn romance has kept fans invested for decades, and a standalone exhibit 300 meters above Osaka feels like a deliberate nod to the local fanbase.

Full event details, including ticketing and exhibit specifics, will be announced at a later date.

Looking Ahead

The Harukas collaboration is part of a broader "30 Year Project" marking Detective Conan's TV anime milestone. The anime, produced by TMS Entertainment (Detective Conan, Lupin III), first aired on January 8, 1996, and has run continuously since. The anniversary campaign also includes a touring exhibition that launched at Tokyo Dome City in February 2026, commemorative concerts, a two-hour TV special, and the franchise's 29th theatrical film.

The Harukas event runs from July 24 to November 29, 2026. Detective Conan is available for international streaming on Crunchyroll, and the manga is serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday.
